A Different Kind of Beautiful

Ever since hearing about the suicide of Tyler Clementi, I couldn't get this particular topic of online bullying off my mind. I find it really pathetic and sad that people take to the net to expose their bias/prejudices. Sure the Internet is a tool to make your voice heard, but when it is at the expense of others...that tool is no longer a tool, but a weapon. Anyway- with a lot of time on my hands...I stumbled across this "Work in Progress"-- trust me I know it needs work, and will have my serious attention when my travels dwindle down.

A Different Kind of Beautiful

The sky shows signs of emeralds
As you walk down an empty road
You see signs of life around you
But none of which you know.

Just a traveler on your journey
And you rarely make a sound
But they notice that your different
As they drive you out of town

So you dress in black,
With your head held low.
But this is not your funereal.
Your different.
A different kind of beautiful.

Trying to find your footing.
As you continue you on your way
But the words echo in the silence
Pushing peace away.

So you dress in black
With your head held low
But this is not your funeral.
Your different.
A different kind of beautiful.

They never understand.
And they never will.
Your different.
A different kind of beautiful.
