Diet. What person loves to hear this word? No one.
So why do it, if you don't like it?
Simple. It's the way of our society.
Happiness = Healthy = Beauty = Losing Weight.
Look around at advertisements around you.
Do you see over weight people?
No. You see small, slender frames.
That's our countries way of telling us.
"Lose Weight and everyone will love to stare at you"
Or something like that.
I've recently been hitting up local book stores around town,
And one of the most common books I've seen is, yes you guessed it
Weight Loss Books. You know, the ones that instruct you to either cut the protein or the carbs.
Or hit up the freezer sections for those lean cuisines? Yeah, those!
Well after snooping around for quite sometime, I found magic.
"Why French Women Don't Get Fat" by Mireille Guilian
Both an amazing novel as well as recipe guide, this book dives into the many
ways of how and why French don't get fat. After discussing this novel with
a few of my friends, I figured it best to share some of the information
I've included into my own 'eating' regimen.'
Maybe they, will help you too!
Make time for food.
Cut the TV dinners or the subway munchies.
If you're going to eat, then make it a formal affair.
Sitting down, without distraction.
Sitting down, without distraction.
Concentrate on what is in front of you.
Savor it. Enjoy it. Get to know it.

Water.
We may hate it, but we can't live without it.
Start slowly by adding a glass before you go to sleep,
as well as when you wake up.
This keeps you hydrated throughout the night:
providing you with better sleep and a cleaner system.
As time progresses gradually add more
throughout your day.

Elimination.
Most diets tell you to eliminate a certain type of food.
Whether that is protein, carbs..what have you, simply, Don't.
You and I both know that cutting out favorites
will only have us craving them even more.
Putting stress on our minds and on our bodies.
If you love it, breathe it, can't live without it..keep it.
But next time you have it..Cut your portion in half.
This will do a world of difference.

Movement.
Let's face it, unless you are living in a city..
walking seems rather impractical.
Especially with the convenience of motorized vehicles.
Simple tip. If you have the time. Walk it.
Whether it's to the mailbox, or the store,
or simply up and down the neighborhood.
Do it. If you can at least get in a 30 minute walk, go for it.

Experiment.
Let's face that lean cuisine macaroni can only hold you over for so long.
It's dull, uninteresting, and unflavorful.
Season up your life a bit, and try some simple recipes from home.
There are some great online selections that are
simple, easy, flavorful, and healthy.
Some that I've found helpful are Southern Living and Cooking Light.
And trust me, I know the lean cuisine may be faster in the long run
..but in the end..
When you put in junk, you get junk.

Overall these tips allow you to lose weight
while not sacrificing yourself day in and day out.
Eating should be fun, exciting, adventurous.
It should be a time you look forward to,
not a time that you dread.
And remember, when trying to shed a few extra pounds,
make sure you are doing it for the right reasons.
Not to grab someones attention or make your boyfriend notice you.
Healthy living should be for you and only you.
Don't make life monotonous, make it fun.
